Lowe's Cos., a $22.1 billion chain of home improvement stores based in Wilkesboro, N.C., promoted Robert Hull Jr. to CFO and senior vice president. He replaces Robert Niblock, who was promoted to president. Hull, 38, joined the company in 1999 and most recently was vice president of financial planning and analysis.
Quebecor World Inc., a $6.3 billion printing and graphics services company based in Montreal, named Claude Helie CFO. He succeeds Christian Paupe, who plans to pursue other interests. Helie, 60, had been the CFO and executive vice president of the company's parent, Quebecor Inc., since April 2000. Previously he served as CFO of Donohue Inc., a Canadian newsprint company, and as vice president of finance of Societe Generale De Financement Du Quebec.
Host Marriott Corp., the $3.79 billion hotel chain based in Bethesda, Md., promoted W. Edward Walter to CFO. He succeeds Robert Parsons Jr., who had been CFO since 1995 and is leaving the company to pursue other interests in the second quarter. Walter, 47, most recently served as Host Marriott's chief operating officer and previously was treasurer, after joining the company in 1996 as senior vice president of acquisitions. Host Marriott also announced that Larry Harvey rejoined the company as corporate controller and senior vice president, replacing Donald Olinger, who left to become CFO of MeriStar Hospitality Corp. Harvey, 38, had been CFO of Barcelo Crestline Corp., which was spun off from Host Marriott in 1998.

Karen Dykstra was named CFO of Automatic Data Processing Inc., a $7.0 billion payroll processor and tax preparation company in Roseland, N.J. She succeeds Richard Haviland, who retired in June 2001. Dykstra, 44, most recently was ADP's vice president of finance. She joined ADP in 1981 and has also served as assistant corporate controller and controller.
Valero Energy Corp., a $26.9 billion oil refiner based in San Antonio, Texas, named Clayton Killinger controller and vice president. He replaces John Krueger, who retired in December 2002. Killinger, 42, joined Valero as assistant controller in December 2001. Previously he spent 18 years at Arthur Andersen LLP, most recently as a partner in both the San Antonio and Houston offices.
David Vajda was named treasurer and vice president of finance for NiSource Inc., a $9.4 billion utility based in Merrillville, Ind. He replaces Dennis McFarland, who left the company at the end of 2002. Vajda, 47, joined NiSource as an accountant in 1977 and most recently was vice president of finance for one of its subsidiaries, Northern Indiana Public Service Co. William O'Malley, 53, who had been NiSource's director of investor relations, succeeded Vajda in that position.
EOTT Energy Partners, L.P., an $8.6 billion marketer of crude oil that's currently in bankruptcy proceedings, named H. Keith Kaelber as its CFO and executive vice president. He succeeds Lawrence Clayton, who left to pursue other interests. EOTT's troubles stem from those of Enron Corp., which had owned a big share in Houston-based EOTT, but the company is in the process of severing its ties with Enron. Kaelber joined EOTT from Indwell, a nonprofit organization, where he served as president. Earlier he served as CFO of NGC Corp., now known as Dynegy Inc.
