Google Inc. named Brent Callinicos as vice president and treasurer of the $6.1 billion Mountain View, Calif. online giant. He comes to Google from Microsoft Corp., where most recently, he held the title of corporate vice president and CFO of Microsoft's platforms and services division. In his 14 years at Microsoft, Callinicos, 41, also served as corporate vice president for worldwide licensing and pricing and, prior to that, as Microsoft's award-winning treasurer. Earlier, he worked for the Walt Disney Co. and Procter & Gamble Co.

U.S. Bancorp named Andrew Cecere CFO and vice chairman of the Minneapolis-based bank, which has $219 billion in assets. He succeeds David M. Moffett, 54, who is retiring. Prior to his appointment, Cecere, 46, was vice chairman of wealth management for U.S. Bancorp and has served in that role since February 2001. Cecere served as CFO of U.S. Bancorp before its merger with Firstar Corp. in 2001. He has been with U.S. Bancorp since 1985. U.S. Bancorp is the sixth-largest financial holding company in the U.S.

Northrop Grumman Corp. named James F. Palmer corporate vice president and CFO of the $30.7 billion defense contractor, which is based in Los Angeles. Palmer, 57, joins Northrop Grumman from Visteon Corp., where he serves as executive vice president and CFO. From 2000 to 2004, he was president of Boeing Capital Corp., and prior to that, he was president of Boeing Shared Services. He takes over from Wesley G. Bush, 45, who was named president and COO. Both appointments are effective as of March 12.
