Citigroup Inc. has named Gary Crittenden as CFO of the $146.6 billion New York financial services company. Crittenden, 53, replaces Sallie L. Krawcheck, who was promoted to chairman and CEO of the global wealth management division. Crittenden joins Citigroup from American Express Co., where he had served as executive vice president and CFO since June 2000. Prior to joining American Express, he served as CFO of Monsanto Co. from 1998 to 2000 and as CFO of Sears Roebuck & Co. from 1997 to 1998.

American Express Co. named Dan Henry as executive vice president and acting CFO of the $24.3 billion global payments, network and travel company, with headquarters in New York. Henry, 57, succeeds Gary Crittenden, 53, who recently resigned. Henry joined American Express in 1990 as controller and recently served as executive vice president and CFO of U.S. consumer, small business and merchant services. Prior to joining the company, he worked closely with American Express while a partner at Ernst & Young.
