Korn/Ferry International named Stephen Giusto executive vice president and CFO of the $689 million executive search firm, with headquarters in Los Angeles. Giusto, 45, succeeds Gary D. Burnison who was promoted to CEO. Giusto joined Korn/Ferry from Resources Connection Inc., a firm he co-founded in 1996. Before that he was a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP's real estate practice.
Mylan Laboratories Inc., the $1.6 billion pharmaceutical company, based in Pittsburgh, named Brian Byala senior vice president and treasurer. Byala brings a wealth of experience to Mylan, including FAS 133 hedge accounting know-how and a thorough understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley practices. He joins Mylan from Pfizer Inc. where he most recently served as assistant treasurer. For the last ten years, he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility within the Pfizer treasury.
Spectrum Brands Inc. has promoted CFO Anthony L. Genito to executive vice president of the $2.5 billion global consumer products company, with headquarters in Atlanta. Genito, 50, who had been a senior vice president, succeeded Randall Steward as CFO in June. Before joining Spectrum in 2004 as vice president of finance, he was vice president of global supply chain/global quality operations for Schering-Plough Corp. His 27 years of management, finance and operational functions began at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

The $11.4 billion diversified industrial firm, based in Hamilton, Bermuda, Ingersoll Rand Co. named James V. Gelly senior vice president and CFO. Gelly, 47, joins Ingersoll from Rockwell Automation where he most recently served as senior vice president and CFO. In 2004, he became vice president and treasurer of Honeywell International Inc., which had acquired his employer, AlliedSignal. In nine years at AlliedSignal, Gelly served in a variety of finance and investor relations roles, including vice president and CFO of the aerospace services unit. Previously, he spent seven years with General Motors Corp.
The Brink's Co., based in Richmond, Va., has announced that vice president and CFO Robert T. Ritter will retire. Ritter, 55, will continue to serve as CFO until the $2.8 billion armored car services firm names a successor. Before joining Brink's nine years ago, he served as CFO of WLR Food Inc. for two years. Previously he held the positions of treasurer and controller at American Cyanamid Co.
Ciber Inc. appointed Peter Cheesbrough executive vice president and CFO of the $996 million information technology consulting company, with headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colo. Cheesbrough began his career in England as a chartered accountant for Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, moving with the company to Canada in 1975. In 1983, he joined Echo Bay Mines, where he was named CFO in 1999. Most recently, he was vice president and general manager of Navigant Biotechnologies, after serving as CFO.
The $3.4 billion international communications company, Level 3 Communications, based in Broomfield, Colo., said it has begun a search for a successor to current CFO Sunit Patel. Patel, 44, came to Level 3 in 2003 and was named CFO in May of that year. Earlier, he was treasurer of MFS Communications Inc. and, before that, treasurer of MCI WorldCom. He was co-founder and CFO of Looking Glass Networks Inc.
