The Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting business has released an iPhone app that allows the company’s 60,000 Practice CS users to extend their reach beyond their desktop and access key firm, staff and client data anytime, anywhere. The initial release of on-the-go Practice CS content also includes WIP and AR data, and is available for download from the Apple iTunes App store free of charge.

XBRL US Labs, the research and development arm of XBRL US, the national consortium for XML business reporting standards, also released its first XBRL iPhone app, called Brix, available from the iTunes App store. Brix delivers data from, and about, financial statements as soon as they are filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. IPhone users can view, search and sort XBRL reports and tags and can receive an alert when a specific company has filed a report.
