Financial Executives: Keeping Track

John Joyce, formerly CFO at IBM, has joined Silver Spring Networks as its CFO and vice chairman. He replaces Warren Jenson, previously the CFO at Electronic Arts, who is staying with Redwood City, Calif.-based Silver Spring as its chief operating officer. Joyce, 56, was most recently a managing director of Silver Lake Partners, a technology investment firm with more than $14 billion in assets under management. He spent 30 years at IBM, including a stint as president of IBM Asia Pacific.

Dow Jones & Co., publisher of the Wall Street Journal and a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s $33 billion News Corp., named Kevin Halpin CFO and executive vice president. He replaces Stephen Daintith, who is leaving to join British newspaper publisher Daily Mail & General Trust. Halpin, 54, comes to Dow Jones from its parent, where he was most recently senior vice president of finance, and before that, vice president.
