Financial Executives: Keeping Track

NRG Energy, the $8.8 billion power producer, named Kirkland Andrews CFO. He succeeds Christian Schade, who is leaving to become CFO and executive vice president at Omthera Pharmaceuticals. Andrews, 43, joins Princeton, N.J.-based NRG from Deutsche Bank Securities, where he was a managing director and co-head of power and utility investment banking in the Americas. Earlier, he worked in investment banking at Citigroup Global Markets. Andrews began working with NRG during the economic crisis of 2008 and 2009, when he advised the company as it warded off a hostile takeover attempt by Exelon.

MasterCard, the $5.5 billion global payments and technology company in Purchase, N.Y., named Andrea Forster corporate controller and principal accounting officer. She succeeds John Sulca, who held the position on an interim basis and will continue to serve as assistant controller. Forster, 51, is joining MasterCard from PepsiCo, where she most recently served as vice president of supply chain transformation. Over the past 20 years, she held a variety of finance positions at both PepsiCo and Pepsi Bottling Group, including serving as Pepsi Bottling’s corporate controller from 2000 to 2007 and its vice president of North America finance from 2007 to 2008.
