Congratulations to Microsoft, winner of the 2018 Alexander Hamilton Overall Excellence Award!

Every year, companies entering initiatives into the Alexander Hamilton Awards contest select a category for each project. This year's categories are treasury transformation, liquidity management, operational risk management & insurance , financial risk management, and technology excellence. And every year, our judges decide—based on the quality of entries in specific categories—whether any one organization stands out as deserving of an “Overall Excellence” award.

This year's judges decided to grant that honor to Microsoft, which submitted interesting and innovative projects in nearly every category.

On October 31, 2018, Treasury & Risk presented the Overall Excellence Award during a live webcast. The event featured a roundtable discussion in which George Zinn, Microsoft's corporate vice president and treasurer (pictured at left); Damaris Sardenberg, senior finance manager; and Neil Doyle, senior credit manager, EMEA and LatAm discuss how Microsoft has built a world-class, leading-edge treasury organization. An on-demand version is still available with registration.

Where does innovation in Microsoft originate? How does the company empower employees to take chances and think outside the box? Our webcast explores these and other factors underlying the success of the Microsoft treasury function.
