U.S. Is Cashing in on Tariffs

The Treasury Department brought in a record $5.6 billion in tariff revenue in October.

The jump in monthly tariff revenue in recent months has more than offset declining transfer payments from the Federal Reserve system, according to U.S. Treasury data.

The Treasury brought in a record $5.551 billion in tariff revenue in October while deposits of earnings from the Federal Reserve fell to $4.541 billion. Last October, customs duties receipts were $3.239 billion.
