Next Wednesday—September 8, at 11amET—in a live webcast moderated by Treasury & Risk editor in chief Meg Waters, several key treasury executives at Microsoft will share their perspective on how companies can foster innovation in the treasury function.

Microsoft has dominated the 2021 Alexander Hamilton Awards contest, winning in almost every category in which we are presenting awards. For that reason, we're also recognizing Microsoft with the 2021 Alexander Hamilton Overall Excellence Award. We will present the award during next week's webcast, then we will launch a panel discussion about the culture of Microsoft's treasury organization.

We will ask why and how treasury leadership encourages team members to continuously improve, across a wide range of treasury activities, from working capital to foreign exchange (FX), from bank accounts to credit risk management, and beyond. We will discuss specific structures the company has in place to incentivize staff to take risks, and whether a penchant for innovation plays a role in the treasury organization's hiring process. Finally, we will talk about the benefits of Microsoft's focus on innovation, both for treasury and the company as a whole.
