The vast majority of companies face interest rate or foreign exchange (FX) risks, or both. Around half of those are using financial instruments to hedge their exposures, and both risks and risk mitigation are most common in companies with more than $20 billion in annual revenue.

These are the top-line findings of recent research released by Chatham Financial. The study of 1,300 U.S. public companies examined risk exposures, hedging, capital markets activity, and hedge accounting practices in 2023.
