AMN Healthcare Services, a San Diego-based healthcare staffing company with $1.2 billion in revenue, has named Bary Bailey CFO. He succeeds David Dreyer, who is leaving the company. Bailey, 50, previously served as CFO and executive vice president at Valeant Pharmaceuticals International. He has also served as executive vice president of strategy and technology at PacifiCare Health Systems.
EarthLink, an Atlanta-based Internet service provider with $955.6 million in revenue, has appointed Bradley Ferguson CFO. His predecessor, Kevin Dotts, will remain until September to ensure a smooth transition. Ferguson, 39, joined EarthLink when it merged with MindSpring Enterprises in 2000. He has served as controller since 2005 and earlier was vice president of commercial finance.
GenCorp, a Sacramento, Calif.-based defense manufacturer with $742 million in revenue, has named John Joy treasurer and vice president. His predecessor, William Lau, is leaving to pursue other interests. Joy, 47, most recently was vice president of treasury and finance at Aviza Technology. Earlier, he served as vice president of treasury and tax at Maxtor Corp. and assistant treasurer and director of global treasury operations for Flextronics International.

Peter Hathaway has been named CFO and executive vice president by JDA Software Group, a $390.3 million supply chain solutions provider in Scottsdale, Ariz. He replaces Kristen Magnuson, who resigned in April to pursue other opportunities. Hathaway most recently served as CFO and executive vice president at Allied Waste Industries. Earlier, he worked in finance at Browning Ferris Industries and Arthur Andersen.
Nexstar Broadcasting Group, a $284.9 million media company, has named Thomas Carter CFO. He succeeds Shirley Green, who has served as interim CFO since May and will continue in her role as controller. Carter, 51, previously served as managing director of media and telecom investment banking at Banc of America Securities, where he spent more than 20 years.
NeoPhotonics Corp., a $205 million San Jose, Calif.-based manufacturer of components for telecommunications networks, appointed J. D. Fay CFO and vice president. He succeeds Michael Potter, who left the company earlier this year to become CFO of Lattice Semiconductor. Fay joined NeoPhotonics as its general counsel in 2007 and has served as interim CFO since January. Previously, he was senior vice president of corporate affairs at @Road, a global provider of mobile resource management solutions, and practiced corporate and securities law at the Venture Law Group.
Welch Allyn, a Skaneateles Falls, N.Y., manufacturer of diagnostic equipment with $210.5 million in revenue, has named Karen Roscher CFO and senior vice president. She succeeds Kevin Cahill, who retired earlier in the year. Roscher most recently was CFO and senior vice president of Conexant Systems, a semiconductor company. Earlier, she served as vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis at Semiconductor Inc., leading the $17.6 billion deal that took the company private, and worked at Motorola as financial planning and analysis director.
Actel Corp., a Mountain View, Calif.-based maker of integrated circuits with revenue of $218.4 million, has named Maurice Carson CFO. The company's previous CFO, Jon Anderson, died last December. Carson, 52, most recently served as CFO and vice president of Kulicke & Soffa, a manufacturer of semiconductor assembly equipment. Earlier, he was vice president of finance and corporate controller for Cypress Semiconductor, and worked in finance at Ephigraphx, Kraft Foodservice and Motorola Corp.
