SunGard is offering a Web-based tool that helps companies comply with the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) initiative. The tool, the AvantGard SEPA Converter, lets companies convert electronic cross-border euro payments into a standardized format that meets the SEPA requirements, SunGard says. The company says the tool is available on a click-and-buy basis.

Oracle says the latest version of PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials and Supply Chain Management helps companies improve their finance processes with tools to better manage the period close and further automate compliance and controls. Version 9.1 of the product also helps companies improve their procurement controls and supports full project life cycle management with tools for enhancing fiscal discipline and special support for the public sector and the research, staffing and government contracting industries, according to the company. Version 9.1 provides Web 2.0 functionality with access to the PeopleSoft Enterprise technology platform, which can make it easier for companies to customize and support their PeopleSoft software and lower the cost of using the products.

Chesapeake System Solutions, an Owings Mill, Md.-based provider of financial governance and risk management solutions, says the latest release of its SmartAnalysis software, which helps companies analyze their bank fees, provides new capabilities, including compatibility with TWIST files to enable companies to import billing information from their international banks. SmartAnalysis 5.5 also provides a "what if" module that companies can use to compare prices for budgeting, forecasting or negotiating purposes, according to Chesapeake.
