Thomson Reuters says it is adding new functionality to its OneSource TaxStream Provision that will streamline companies' tax workflow. The Enhanced Provision and Return Integration can take a single line item from TaxStream Provision and break it into multiple line items in OneSource Income Tax or take multiple line items and consolidate them into a single item. Thomson says the improvements automate manual processes, increasing efficiency. For example, clients can feed information like trial balance data and book-tax differences from OneSource TaxStream Provision into Thomson's income tax program to get started on the return, the company says.

Oracle says it has upgraded its Enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance Controls and is introducing Enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager to provide companies with a closed-loop approach to identifying, assessing and prioritizing their risks and then applying both manual and automated controls. Enterprise GRC Manager gives companies a single system to manage risk and compliance activities, which Oracle argues will help cut auditing costs. It also provides complete support for financial compliance, the company says.

Northern Trust, the Chicago-based bank and investment manager, says it has begun measuring the carbon footprint of its clients' investments. The analytics of environmental emissions are based on data provided by Trucost Plc, the bank says.
