Treasury & Risk is a finalist in the 2010 Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards, which recognize editorial excellence in business-to-business media. One of 124 finalists selected from 700 entries, T&R placed in the top three in the Subject-Related Series of Articles category among publications its size.

The winning stories, which examined three key aspects of risk facing corporations in the wake of the financial crisis, appeared in Treasury & Risk's April 2009 issue. In Staying Alert and Alive, senior contributing editor Russ Banham highlighted corporate risk managers' concerns about the solvency of their insurance carriers and related worries. In Bank Watch, senior contributing editor Richard Gamble focused on what the devastation that had occurred in the banking industry meant for companies' relationships with the financial institutions that provide them with credit. When Quants Ruled, by contributing editor Duncan Wood, looked at whether the financial crisis had discredited the sophisticated risk modeling techniques employed by the banks and the lessons learned.

The national business journalism awards–which echo T&R's own Alexander Hamilton Awards for best practices in finance and treasury–will be announced on March 11th in New York City.
