Penn National Gaming, a Wyomissing, Pa.-based operator of gaming facilities and race tracks with $2.36 billion of 2009 revenue, hired Mario Kontomerkos as corporate vice president of finance, a new position for the company. Kontomerkos, 34, most recently founded a private equity firm, Lycavitos LLC. Earlier, he worked as an investment manager and analyst at Magnetar Capital, TPG Capital and JP Morgan Securities.
John Hafferty was appointed CFO of Pacer International, a $2 billion freight transportation company in Dublin, Ohio. He succeeds Brian Kane, who will leave in early June. Hafferty, 53, is joining Pacer from Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, where he was CFO for the international division. Earlier, he was senior vice president of corporate strategy and development at Schenker Americas and worked at UPS, where his positions included CFO of the international package operation and executive vice president of the supply chain solutions business.
FTI Consulting, a $1.3 billion business advisory company, named David Bannister CFO. He succeeds Jorge Celaya, who is leaving to pursue a new business venture. Bannister, 54, most recently served as the company's chief administrative officer and chief development officer. Before joining West Palm Beach, Fla.-based FTI in 2005, Bannister was a general partner of Grotech Capital Group and a managing director in investment banking at Alex. Brown and Sons.

Terry Freeman was named CFO and senior vice president of Integrated Electrical Services, a $666 million Houston-based company that provides electrical and communications contracting solutions. He succeeds Randy Guba, who is leaving the company. Freeman, 59, had been CFO and senior vice president at Metals USA until it merged with another company in 2005. Earlier, he served as corporate controller and director of financial reporting at Maxxam and worked at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche.
Robert Wallace was named CFO and executice vice president of the general partner of both Penn Virginia Resource Partners and Penn Virginia GP Holdings, Radnor, Pa.-based partnerships involved in coal and natural resources with revenue of $656 million. He replaces Frank Pici, who will continue as CFO of the largest unit holder, Penn Virginia Corp. Wallace, 48, most recently was CFO and senior vice president of finance at Buckeye Partners. Earlier, he worked in investment banking at UBS.
CSS Industries, a Philadelphia maker of gift wrap and greeting cards with $482 million in 2009 revenue, hired Vincent Paccapaniccia as CFO. He succeeds Clifford Pietrafitta, who resigned. Paccapaniccia, 52, had been CFO and executive vice president of finance and administration for ICT Group until it was acquired by another company in February. Since joining ICT in 1998, he had also served as its vice president and senior vice president, both of finance.
Joseph Maliekel was appointed chief accounting officer of Columbus McKinnon, a $606 million manufacturer of hoists, cranes and other material handling systems in Amherst, N.Y. Karen Howard, the company's CFO, previously served as chief accounting officer. Maliekel, 49, joined the company in October as corporate controller. Earlier, he worked at BDO Seidman, spent more than seven years in finance positions at Monsanto and worked for more than 12 years at Deloitte.
