AllianceBernstein,
a New York-based asset manager with $2.9 billion in 2010 revenue, hired Andrea Prochniak as director of investor relations and senior vice president. She succeeds Philip Talamo, who left late last year to join UBS. Most recently, Prochniak was vice president of financial communications at CBS, a job she held since 2008. Earlier, she worked at Morgan Stanley for nine years, most recently as executive director of investor relations, and spent three years as a journalist at Fortune magazine. She began her career as a securities analyst at Morningstar.

BATS Global Markets, an exchange operator based in Kansas City, Mo., that is expected to go public, named Brian Schell CFO and senior vice president. He replaces Craig Perrigo, who continues to serve as chief accounting officer. Schell, 45, is joining BATS from H&R Block, where he most recently was senior vice president of operations, support and development for tax services. In 16 years at H&R Block, Schell also served as CFO of tax services and of the financial advisers division. Prior to joining H&R Block, he worked at the FDIC and KPMG. He began his career as a financial analyst at JP Morgan.

The Buckle, a chain of denim clothing stores based in Kearney, Neb., named Thomas Heacock treasurer in addition to his position as controller, a job he has performed since 2007. As treasurer, he replaces Karen Rhoads, who remains CFO and vice president of finance. Heacock, 33, first joined the company in 2003, after working at Ernst & Young. The Buckle reported 2010 sales of $898 million.

Arbitron, a $395 million provider of radio and media marketing information and ratings, appointed Richard Surratt CFO and executive vice president of finance. He succeeds Sean Creamer, who was named executive vice president of U.S. media services last year. Surratt, 50, served as CEO and president of Voyager Learning Co., an education software company, from 2007 to 2009 after joining the company in 2005 as CFO. For seven years prior to that, Surratt was CFO and treasurer at Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings, which operates Independence Air. Earlier, he spent nine years at Mobil, including a stint as treasurer of the Latin America region.

PRGX Global, a $184 million data mining company in Atlanta, named Brian Lane controller and principal accounting officer. He succeeds Robert Lee, who continues to serve as the company's CFO and treasurer. Lane, 49, is joining PRGX from NexCen Brands, where he was chief accounting officer. Earlier, Lane served as chief accounting officer for Altisource Portfolio Solutions and controller for the credit card unit at CompuCredit. He began his career at Ernst & Young.

Baldwin Technology Co., a $152 million maker of printing automation in Shelton, Conn., named Ivan Habibe CFO, treasurer and vice president. He replaces John Jordan, who left in February to become CFO of Zygo. Habibe, 44, served as CFO at Russell Hobbs, a consumer products company, since 2007. Earlier, he served as chief accounting officer at Applica, a predecessor of Russell Hobbs, and was also its senior director of SEC reporting and compliance. Before joining Applica, Habibe was an audit manager at Deloitte & Touche.
