The Atlantic coast of the United States north of Cape Hatteras, N.C., is at higher risk of flooding because the pace at which sea levels are rising along that stretch is three to four times faster than the global average, according to a Yahoo article detailing a recent research study by the U.S. Geological Survey. The possible "hot spot" includes such densely populated cities as New York and Boston.
