Bradley Birkenfeld, who provided the Internal Revenue Service with information that led to a major tax fraud case against UBS, has been awarded $104 million, Reuters reports. In the case for which Birkenfeld provided information, UBS entered a deferred prosecution agreement and paid $780 million in fines and penalties.
Birkenfeld was recently released from prison. Despite providing a tip about UBS, he was charged with withholding other information.
