As European companies face government regulations requiring them to have a certain number of women on their boards, more U.S. female executives are joining European boards, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal. Executive recruiter Spencer Stuart says that 96 American women are serving in 136 director positions at companies in 12 European nations.
European companies are not only hoping to meet gender quotas but to find directors with expertise in such areas as digital media, emerging markets and accounting.
