Members of the British Parliament have called on the government to investigate why Starbucks pays so little corporate tax in the United Kingdom, the U.K. Telegraph reports. The legislators' comments followed a Reuters report that Starbucks has paid just 8.6 million pounds in corporate taxes in the 14 years it has operated in the U.K.

According to Reuters, Starbucks has reported losses in the U.K. for the last five years, which limited its taxes, although the company was telling analysts that its business in the U.S. was going well.
