Dean Foods, a $13 billion food and beverage company based in Dallas, Texas, promoted Chris Bellairs to CFO and executive vice president. He succeeds Shaun Mara, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Bellairs currently serves as CFO for Fresh Dairy Direct, a subsidiary of Dean Foods. Earlier, he worked in finance at Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and Iron Mountain.
Marsh & McLennan, an $11.5 billion global professional services firm, appointed Keith Walsh to head of investor relations and vice president. The company's CFO, J. Michael Bischoff, previously handled investor relations. Walsh, 38, joins the New York-based company from Citi, where he was an equity research analyst for 13 years. He began his career as a research associate at Smith Barney, a former unit of Citigroup, in 1999.
Fossil, a $2.5 billion fashion accessories company, named Dennis Secor CFO, treasurer and executive vice president. He will replace Mike Kovar, who is retiring in March. Secor joins Fossil from Guess? Inc., where he served as CFO and senior vice president. Prior to joining Guess? in 2006, he was CFO and vice president for the Canadian unit of Electronic Arts.
Orbitz, the $776 million online travel company, named Mitch Marcus CFO. He replaces interim CFO David Belmont, who will return to his position as group vice president of financial planning and analysis for the Chicago-based company. Marcus, 49, pictured at right, recently served as senior vice president, treasurer and senior vice president of corporate development at Sara Lee. Earlier, he worked at Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and William Blair. Marcus began his career at Arthur Andersen.
Watts Water Technologies, a manufacturer of water supply products, named Dean Freeman CFO and executive vice president. He replaces William McCartney, who will be retiring from the $1.4 billion North Andover, Mass. –based company. Freeman previously was treasurer and senior vice president at Flowserve. He also served as CFO and vice president of finance for the Flowserve Pump division from 2006 to 2009. Earlier, Freeman was CFO in Europe for Stanley Works and worked in finance and management positions at United Technologies and SPX.
HealthMarkets, a $665 million insurance holding company in North Richland Hills, Texas, named R. Scott Donovan CFO and executive vice president. He succeeds interim CFO Derrick Duke, who will return to his position as treasurer, senior vice president and chief insurance operation officer. Donovan, 55, at left, previously served as executive vice president at Odyssey Reinsurance Corp. and CFO and executive vice president at Odyssey Re Holdings Corp. Earlier, he was president and COO at TIG Insurance Group, where he also served as CFO for 3 years, and as CFO and senior vice president at Coregis Insurance Group, a subsidiary of GE Capital. He also served as treasurer at Crum & Foster Insurance Co.
Cvent, a privately held meetings and event management company in McLean, Va., appointed Pete Childs CFO. He succeeds Thomas Kramer, who left last year to become CFO at Opower. Childs, 49, most recently served as controller and principal accounting officer at Towers Watson, where he played a key role in taking the company public in 2000. Earlier, he was treasurer and vice president of finance at HCR Manor Care and manager of treasury operations at Primark Corp. He began his career at KPMG.
