New York State's public pension fund has sued San Diego-based chipmaker Qualcomm to gain access to the company's records on political contributions, Reuters reports. The lawsuit follows Qualcomm's refusal to give the pension fund, the New York State Common Retirement Fund, access to its records on political spending, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. The $150 billion fund owns $378 million worth of Qualcomm shares.

According to the lawsuit, Qualcomm spent more than $4.7 million on lobbying last year.
